How Do I Get Saved?

WHAT MUST I DO TO BE SAVED?
(Acts 16:30)

You must be born again, for the wages of sin is death (John 3:3,5/Romans 6:23)

How do I become born again?

Acknowledge that you are a sinner, for all have sinned and come short of the glory of God (Romans 3:23/Romans 5:12).

Believe on the name of the only begotten Son of God (JESUS, or YESHUA), that he died for your sins and rose again from the dead (Acts 16:29-31/Romans 10:9, 10).

Confess your sins (that you have sinned) and ask for forgiveness for them (1Jn 1:9)

Repent (change your mind/turn from sin), and believe the gospel (Mark 1:14,15)

We are saved by grace through faith, and not of works (Ephesians 2:8,9).  But we must count the cost, for faith without works is dead (James 2:26).  Consider the cost, for it's not an easy believism, but a continual walk of discipline and obedience (Luke 14:27-30).  God's Spirit will help you overcome sin.  He will transform you by His Word, and through constant communion with Jesus, who is the Living Word of God.  Come to Him as you are, and let Him change you.

Ask Jesus to be Lord and Savior of Your Life.  Say this simple, heartfelt prayer:

God, I know I am a sinner.  I ask you to forgive me for all of my sins.  I believe Jesus died and rose from the dead for my sins.  I want Jesus to be Lord and Savior of my life.  Jesus, please come into my heart now.

In Jesus' Name, Amen.

Now what?

Now, be baptized (filled) with God's Holy Spirit, for you must receive the power from on High--the third person of the Godhead--to live inside of you (Acts 1:4,5/Matthew 3:11/Acts 2:1-4/Acts 10:44-46)--click on this tract title: Have You Received the Holy Spirit Since You Believed?).
Note: this tract was made to be read as a brochure, so you will have to follow the page numbers at the bottom to read it in the right order.

Get a bible and start reading it  A King James Version Bible is a solid bible to start with to get grounded in the Word of God, because those who compiled it have done a pretty good job translating the original Greek and Hebrew text into English.  But God can minister through other bibles too, as He also inspires other translators in their studies of the original languages.  The important thing is to let the Holy Spirit guide you when reading the Bible! He will supply the understanding.

Find Holy Spirit filled believers to fellowship with (Hebrews 10:24,25).

Be water baptized as an outward act to show you have been washed and cleansed inwardly, dead to sin and resurrected with Christ into a new person of righteousness! (Matthew 28:19/Romans 6:4/Acts 10:47,48)

Practice righteousness (Romans 6:11-19)

Spend time in God's presence BY QUIETING YOURSELF FROM ALL DISTRACTIONS AND WAITING BEFORE HIM, LISTENING TO WHAT HE WOULD SAY TO YOU PERSONALLY DURING THIS DEVOTION TIME.  OFTEN, WE SPEND SO MUCH TIME TALKING TO GOD, THAT WE FORGET HE WANTS TO TALK TO US!

Washed by the blood of Jesus
Sanctified set apart from the world
Justified just as if you never sinned

If you just got saved, congratulations! The Bible says that the angels in heaven rejoice over one sinner who repents (Luke 15:10).
